Financial Controller

BRYCE CHIA currently holds the position of Financial Controller at EFS Group, overseeing the financial, banking, and investment aspects of the organisation. He is entrusted with the critical responsibility of ensuring the sound financial health and strategic management of the group. His duties include financial planning, analysis, and reporting, as well as optimising our investment strategies to drive the group’s financial growth and success.

Background

Bryce received his Master’s degree in Professional Accounting from Latrobe University, Australia. He is a Chartered Accountant of the Malaysia Institute of Accountants (MIA), and a Certified Public Accountant registered to The Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA). Bryce embarked on his professional journey as an external auditor at PricewaterhouseCoopers, dedicating five years to this pivotal role. During this time, he demonstrated remarkable leadership by overseeing audits for companies spanning various sizes and industries. Notably, Bryce conducted audits for some of Malaysia’s most significant players, including major trading companies, manufacturers, as well as prominent property developers and construction firms.

In 2019, Bryce transitioned into the Renewable Energy Industry, where he currently oversees the financial, banking, and investment aspects of the organisation. He has applied his skills to ensure compliance, optimise project finances, and manage resources effectively, becoming a catalyst for the renewable energy sector’s growth. Bryce’s interdisciplinary expertise has enabled him to facilitate the convergence of the renewable energy, property development, and construction industries, ensuring that renewable energy projects are not only environmentally sustainable but also financially sound.
